I have a few pieces on show at the first Be Framed exhibition in Douglas, Cork which features work from over 30 artists. The show opens this Friday 20th September from 6-9pm for Culture Night and runs until 30th October.
I'm delighted to say that I have some new stockists around the country. Here is Wilds in Glandore- home of Waters + Wild organic Perfumery. This beautifully curated shop also stocks the 'lace fern' notebooks from my collaboration with Badly Made Books.
'Lace Fern' is inspired by the ferns that we see growing all over West Cork and Ireland. Hidden amongst the lace detail are tiny Irish wild flowers.
I have a new colourway of this image- the background green colour is the same green as the other ‘Lace Fern’ print so the two work well together.
Now available from my website shop and from West Cork Crafts in Skibbereen.
I am having my first ever online Studio Sale next Friday here on Facebook as I deep clean my studio and find treasure! There will be original artworks, seconds prints, sample pieces, discontinued work, reduced pieces and special offers. First come, first serve and payments can be made via Paypal. The event will run from 7-10pm on Friday 26th July.
The lovely bright Baltimore Beacon tea towels are back in stock. 100% cotton and with a navy hanging loop, these are great as a tea towel, hand towel or even hung as a piece of art. Lots of people have been getting these framed and stretched onto a frame to create a beautiful large art piece! Available from my online shop and from West Cork Crafts in Skibbereen.
I am delighted to have my new FERN collection of 7 archival giclee prints up in the beautiful space that is O’ Neill Coffee in my hometown of Skibbereen in West Cork.
Here are the 'Atlantic Hybrid Shield-fern' and the 'Hay-scented Buckler-fern' which are in the back room downstairs at the café.
For anyone that isn’t familiar with the café, it opened 2 years ago and used to be a grocery shop. It was left like so many of the empty buildings in town until owner Colm renovated and opened it as a café. The interior is a really nice mix of original features from the old grocery shop, a painted concrete floor and white walls with exposed patches of the original distressed paint. Such a special place, and the coffee and local treats are so good too. Be sure to call in if you are in the area.
This feature wall on the stairway is one of my favourite parts of O’ Neill Coffee. I love the mix of old and new and all the layers of built up paint that show the buildings history. You may recognise this ‘Lace Fern’ print- this is a large framed version from a small limited edition. All the work on show is professionally framed and the new FERN Collection is framed in beautiful dark wooden frames.
There are some framed originals from a different series upstairs as well. Thanks to Colm for giving me free reign and letting me show my work and to my hubby Kev for the drilling and hanging skills. And also to little Emilia as we had to wake her up super early to set up the work before the café opened.
It is so nice to have finished my new FERN collection and have it out in the world. The collection consists of 7 different fern designs. Below is an image from my studio as I am mounting and signing the prints in the June evening sun.
All the prints from the FERN collection are framed in beautiful dark wooden frames and are also available from West Cork Crafts which is a collective that I am a member of and is found around the corner on Bridge Street, Skibbereen.
Here is a peek at one illustration from my new Fern print collection which will be available very soon. This has probably been my favourite project to work on ever, and picking all the greens is a lovely part of the process. This is 'Maidenhair Fern' which is one of my favourites- the shape is so delicate and beautiful.
There are 7 designs in the collection so far and I hope to add to it over time. This work is quite different for me as each design has a subtle gradient of colour that creates movement and this is a technique that I have never used in my work before.
I hope that you like it and the prints will be available from Midsummer’s Day- 21st June.
It's a bitter-sweet feeling when a limited edition of a print sells out. Although it is always wonderful to know that people like my work enough to buy it, and amazing to know that it is out there in homes across the world, when an edition sells out it feels like the end of a chapter for me.
People often comment that I should make all my prints open edition but I like the fact that they are limited and exclusive- a high quality fine art print that will retain it's value. When an edition sells out it makes room for new work which is always exciting and pushes me creatively.
Incase anyone is planning on buying a print of 'The Baltimore Beacon', there are now only 5 left in the edition. The print is available from my website www.petaltopetal.com and West Cork Crafts in Skibbereen.
Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe that it is 2019 already- 2018 flew by in a blur!
My focus for this month is my studio clear out and as I discover samples, seconds, originals and anything else I list them in my webshop or drop them in to West Cork Crafts (if you live in West Cork be sure to keep an eye on West Cork Crafts in Skibbereen as I will continue to drop new bits in over the month).
Some designs are low in stock including this ‘Lace Fern’ mug and the last ones available can also be found at West Cork Crafts.
I will be closing my online shop for Christmas in 2 weeks time, so if you are planning on making an order please do so as soon as possible to guarantee delivery.
I am happy to gift wrap your order (as seen below in this glitter tissue paper with my new stickers) and can also include one of my new Christmas greeting cards with a handwritten note from you. I can also post directly to the receiver, anywhere in the world (Please see the An Post last posting dates here and note that there are just 6 days left for me to process and ship orders outside Europe). This service is free of charge as a thank you for supporting small businesses this Christmas.
New luxury Christmas greeting cards are now in stock and they literally glow! The detailed illustrated gold tree is inspired by beautiful embroidery hoops and the gold foiling really pops against the deep fir green background. Now in stock at West Cork Crafts in Skibbereen and I'll be listing them in my webshop over the weekend.
A new product is now in stock. 'The Baltimore Beacon' print is limited edition and is nearly out of stock, but the image is now available as a lovely bright tea towel! 100% cotton and with a navy hanging loop, this would be great as a tea towel, hand towel or even hung as a piece of art. Available from @westcorkcrafts and @bandoncraftcentre.
This year I will not be taking part in any Christmas fairs. As a creative that has my own line of products, for the past several years the whole Christmas season from September-January has been consumed by preparing for and going to fairs. And this year I’m happy to say that I’m going to do something different and spend the time with Emilia instead- my 1 year old who is changing every single day. I don’t want to miss a thing.
I am still busy in the studio and will be taking orders and shipping as normal until I close shop for Christmas. In the next couple of weeks I will also have a new product and a luxury Christmas card which I’m very excited about!
Some art prints such as ‘The Baltimore Beacon’ and ‘Ireland in Bloom’ are very low in stock and as they are limited edition when they are gone, they’re gone! Cork Lace tea towels are out of stock and Ireland in Bloom tea towels are almost out of stock but you can find some in West Cork Crafts in Skibbereen. The sale in my webshop will continue until the end of this week.
The best range of my products is available at West Cork Crafts and Nano Nagle Place in Cork has a large selection of my products as well. I will keep my stockist list on my website updated.
My latest design is finally ready and I am excited about this one. 'Lacecap Hydrangea' is a particularly special flower to me. It reminds me of my Grandma and we have it planted in our garden to admire when it breaks out into its beautiful bloom. My husband and I had it in our wedding flowers and even had the flowers made out of icing as beautiful finishing touches on our wedding favours (which were luxurious chocolate ganache cakes with beautiful lace and flower icing) to remember my Grandma on our special day.
This flower is just so timeless and delicate and the colours are incredible and come in so many lovely combinations. You can see it all over West Cork in the Summer sunshine and it brings me happiness whenever I see it. This image is available as a greeting card which is already stocked at West Cork Crafts (Skibbereen, West Cork) and Chou's Cottage (Clonmel, Co. Tipperary) and will also be available as a print soon. 💮🌸🌿
What a nice start to St. Patrick's Weekend! I'm delighted to have my design featured on The Late Late Show last night where Ryan Tubridy gifted Mark Hamill from Star Wars the 'Ireland in Bloom' Pocket Square that I collaborated on with Mr. Jenks 🍀🇮🇪
I am delighted to feature in this double page spread in the Property & Interiors section of the Irish Examiner.
I'm excited to announce a collaboration with Cork based Badly Made Books. I love paper goods and notebooks in particular so it's great to see my designs on such beautiful examples which are completely handmade here in Cork. 'Flight Paths' is one of 3 designs that will be available very soon. As well as being stocked in shops around the country, the notebooks will also be available from my webshop.
A new colourway of the 'Irish Wildflowers' print is now available in one of my all time favourite colours, Petrol Blue http://www.petaltopetal.com/shop/irishwildflowerspetrolblue
Petrol Blue is a greyish- blue colour tinted with green.
